US Navy pilots shoot down a Japanese fighter and the crew of the USS Springer recovers his papers.

While reading the USS Springer's second war patrol report, you will see that a Japanese plane (Zeke) tried to strafe the USS Springer flying in low. The USS Springer dove to evade the plane. When she surfaced the crew witnessed a dog fight between the Japanese plane and United States Navy planes. The Japanese plane was shot down and the pilot killed. The USS Springer manuvered to recover the pilot's papers, maps, etc.
